President Qin's Little Wife Is The Strongest

Chapter 16

Unknowingly, she had spent close to two hours in the painting association from getting to Master Wang while checking the paintings and also to making him buy.

Knowing that she had such an amount of money on the way made her even happier and instead of heading home as soon as she got to her bus stop, she stopped by a restaurant and got some takeout that would be enough for the three of them.

She hurried her steps the moment she got to her street and saw her mother pacing slowly in front of their house.

“Mother!”

“Yue’er, I was already wondering why you were taking so long. The young master said you didn’t take your cell and so I couldn’t talk to you.” Her mother complained and then pulled her daughter in for a hug.

For Rong Xia, one had to understand that her daughter was the most important thing to her. If anything happened to her, it was almost the same as killing her too.

.....

“I went to submit my painting, see mom, my work got accepted but let’s go inside.” She said pulling her mother’s hand the moment she noticed the several peeping toms around.

Rong Xia followed her inside and then took the food pack.

“Welcome.” Qin Yichen said monotonously as he stood up.

Rong Yue looked at the expensive phone and laptop that he had been holding just before she entered.

“You were able to contact your family?” She asked curiously, eyeing him suspiciously.

To her, she just wanted his family to sort matters and then pay her so she could start to look for a better place for her mother and her.

“Hmmm, my brother had some men send me gadgets so I can work while I’m here.” He answered and then brought out the phone she had given him this morning from his pockets.

“Thank you.”

“Okay, why haven’t they taken you with them? Can’t they find a safe zone?” She asked, her eyes going to the bag beside him that suspiciously looked like it had clothes in it.

Even though she didn’t think he was dangerous, she felt like their house was small enough for she and her mother considering that she had also spent the last years of her past life in minimal luxury.

Staying in a place like this wasn’t exactly convenient.

“I have different forces and all my safe zones are known by both, one of the groups are more trustworthy and they are the ones that brought this over, however, the moment they have to be with me, we would be exposing ourselves to the other group where I suspect a mole is.”

If there was anyone from the capital watching these two, the person would have rushed ahead to pinch Qin Yichen to confirm he was real.

Everyone knew that second young master Qin never says more than one or two words. He had enough people around him that would readily translate anything he wanted to say to the audience.

Rong Yue nodded her head in understanding and then picked up the laptop. She checked for anything manually to be sure she wasn’t rusty and then asked for Little Loli to check also.

The whole time, it only seemed as if she was admiring the laptop. But for someone like Qin Yichen whose eyes and brain also worked at an insane pace, he was able to understand what she was doing.

Surprise flashed in his eyes as he watched her, dressed in her school uniform that amplified her youthfulness and her slender neck was bent over as she looked at the gadgets with concentration. He couldn’t help but wonder if skills like that was something that an high school girl was supposed to have.

After getting little Loli to check the laptop, she did the same for the phone before handing it back to him.

“Very nice gadgets.” She praised

“Some money came into your phone while you were away.” Qin Yichen started.

Although he wasn’t one to care about someone, he found himself being worried that she was doing something she shouldn’t be doing because of them not having money.

“It did!? Seems like that man could be trusted.” She said mumbling the second part to herself majorly.

“What man is that?” He blurted without thinking, however, Rong Yue who felt like it was a pretty normal thing since they were talking relied normally and then told him about what had happened there.

Upon seeing how sincere she looked and remembering her painting, he was finally relieved.

“He might have made a mistake though, I think it was four million that came in.”

Since he had been using the phone when the notification entered, he had seen the full message and amount.

Hearing that the man had kept an extra million, Rong Yue’s Fave lit up with happiness as she started considering accepting him if he had so much money to spare.

They talked for a little while more before she went in to shower and change.

“Should I call Auntie Su and inform her that you won’t be able to make it today?” Her mother asked as she set the table for lunch as Rong Yue had requested.

Quiting the work entirely was her sole purpose but she also felt grateful to Auntie Su who had been there for her when there was no one, so she couldn’t leave like that. For someone like her that had been hurt by several people, she was determined to treat anyone that treated her with sincerity well and anyone that did otherwise was also going to get what they deserved.

“I would go, maybe while I’m there, I’ll think of a way to stop the work there.”

Qin Yichen in a way sort of understood all their matters and he was satisfied when she decided to not just dump the work after getting paid from her painting work.

Even though the takeout was nice, Rong Yue still felt like it was not as nice as the soup Qin Yichen had made earlier this morning.

“If you agree to cooking the meals, you can live here for free.” She said with a face full of self righteousness while looking at him to see if he would agree.

Even though she felt like she was mature and older than him, in her youthful appearance, she looked like a glutton that was too ashamed to claim what they were.

“Okay.” He agreed with a small smile while watching the satisfied smile that crossed her features.

Rong Xia who was watching the both of them frowned slightly as she saw the their interaction and the look in Qin Yichen’s eyes while her daughter was busy gobbling her food with no care for her surroundings.

After eating her lunch, she waved goodbye to the both of them and left the house. It was almost like as if she was the hardworking wife that cared for the husband and her mother in law with how she left them home all the time.
